Nobody puts our fundraising night in the corner!

What an evening we had at our Dirty Dancing vs Grease fundraising event! 🎶✨

Packed with music, dancing, plenty of 80s and 50s-inspired fun, and some very enthusiastic attempts to settle the ultimate question — Team Dirty Dancing or Team Grease? — it was a night to remember.

Most importantly, it was a night where our community came together to have fun while raising vital funds for the Village Centre (VC).

From Baby and Johnny to Sandy and Danny

We were incredibly lucky to have the fantastic Claire and Harvey providing the entertainment for the evening.

They began the night by transforming into our very own Baby and Johnny, bringing the magic of Dirty Dancing to life and getting everyone into the spirit of the evening.

Then, after the break, they underwent another transformation — this time becoming Sandy and Danny and taking us straight into the world of Grease with a fantastic rendition of Summer Nights.

By this point, there was very little chance of anyone remaining in their seats!

Claire and Harvey had everyone up on the dance floor, singing along and embracing the atmosphere. Their energy and enthusiasm were absolutely infectious and helped make the evening such a success.

And just when we thought the night couldn't get any better, they finished with a wonderful tribute to Dolly Parton, which was the perfect way to bring the evening to a close.

A night of fundraising and fun

While the evening was all about music, dancing and having a great time, there was a very important reason behind it — raising money for the VC.

Events like this are about so much more than the money raised on the night. They bring people together, create a real sense of community and give everyone the opportunity to support something that matters to us all.

From buying tickets and raffle tickets to bidding in the auction, getting involved on the dance floor or simply coming along and supporting the event, every contribution helped.

And we are incredibly grateful.

A very special thank you

An event of this scale simply wouldn't happen without the support of a huge number of people, and we want to take this opportunity to say a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who played a part.

A special shout-out goes to our VC fundraising events team and our office team, whose hard work behind the scenes helped bring the whole evening together.

We'd also like to say a massive thank you to all the individuals, local businesses and organisations who donated prizes and items for our Auction & Raffle. Your generosity makes such a difference to our fundraising, and we genuinely couldn't keep going without your continued support.

And a special thank you to the Parish Council for providing their wonderful marquee for the evening. It gave us the perfect setting for the event and was very much appreciated.

Of course, we also want to thank everyone who came along.

Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, bought raffle tickets, placed a bid, helped behind the scenes, took part, danced, sang and generally threw themselves into the spirit of the evening.

You helped make the night such a roaring success.

Whichever side you were on, we think it's fair to say that everyone was a winner on the night.

The real winner, of course, was the Village Centre, thanks to everyone's generosity and support.
