Our Community Services
Helping people stay connected
Our charity exists to bring people together, reduce loneliness and provide safe, welcoming spaces where people can meet, talk and feel supported. For many who walk through our doors each week, the Village Centre is more than just a building — it is a place of companionship, understanding and kindness.
From the Friendship Club and Dementia Café to health support groups and informal chats over a cup of tea, our services create opportunities for connection, support and friendship within our community.
Our regular clubs & groups
Silver Socials Friendship Group
Silver Socials is our welcoming friendship club for older adults who would enjoy meeting new people and spending time in good company.
Members enjoy relaxed and welcoming days filled with conversation, music, quizzes, games, crafts and entertainment, along with a freshly prepared two-course lunch and refreshments throughout the day. The club runs three days a week all year round.
For many people, Silver Socials offers the chance to build new friendships, stay socially connected and enjoy regular time together in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Forget-Me-Knot Café
Our Forget-Me-Knot Dementia Café provides a safe and supportive space for people living with dementia and those who care for them.
Each session offers a relaxed atmosphere with refreshments, activities, music and gentle conversation, giving guests the opportunity to spend time together while connecting with others who understand their experiences. We use music, books, puzzles and objects to encourage reminiscence and spark conversations and memories from the past.
Above all, the Forget-me-Knot Café is a place where friendships are formed, support is shared and nobody has to face their dementia journey alone.
Together We Care Group
We are inviting caregivers and loved ones facing dementia to connect with other who truly understand.
Caring for someone can be both rewarding and challenging. Our Carers Support Group offers carers the opportunity to meet others who truly understand the role they play. These informal sessions provide a chance to share experiences, talk openly and receive encouragement from others in similar situations. A cup of tea, a listening ear and a supportive community can make all the difference.
Some months, we will invite the experts but there will always be a time to share and learn from each other.

Chatty Café
Look for the Chatty Café yellow tablecloth and take a seat!
These Friday morning sessions are open to anyone who would enjoy a friendly chat — a place where people can meet new faces, enjoy a cup of tea and spend time talking in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Whether you stay for ten minutes or an hour, there is always someone happy to talk. Some people come along for company, others for conversation, and many simply enjoy the opportunity to feel part of the community.
The Chatty Café Table is all about bringing people together, reducing loneliness and creating a warm, inclusive space where everyone feels welcome. No booking is needed — just pull up a chair and join the conversation.

Through conversation, social activities, laughter and plenty of banter, members can rebuild confidence, stay connected and enjoy time together in a relaxed and informal setting.
Parkinsons Group
Our Parkinson’s Group brings together people living with Parkinson’s, their families and loved ones in a friendly and understanding environment.
The group offers a chance to meet others, share experiences, learn from one another and enjoy time together. Talking with people who understand the challenges of Parkinson’s can provide reassurance, friendship and support.
Whether someone is newly diagnosed, has been living with Parkinson’s for some time, or is supporting a loved one, the group provides a space to connect, ask questions and feel less alone. It helps members stay supported and connected within the community.
