Donations and fundraising really make a difference to the services we can offer the community and we really appreciate your support. Thank you!

Volunteering

The VC simply wouldn’t exist without its volunteers. It’s a great way to meet people, have fun and help your community. Whether you can help for an hour or a day a week we would love to hear from you.

We asked some of our existing volunteers what they enjoyed most about working at the Centre. Here’s what they had to say …

Viv Adams

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO VOLUNTEER AT THE VC?
It can be really hard work when we’re very busy, but as it is a really friendly place to work time just flies by. I enjoy welcoming new customers to the Centre and chatting with familiar faces. The staff always show their gratitude for our help.

If you feel inspired to offer some of your time then we’d love to talk to you. Pop in for an informal chat about your skills and where you think you could be of most use. We need volunteers for every aspect of the Centre – even one hour a week can make a huge difference. So what are you waiting for?

Become a Friend

One of the easiest ways you can make a difference is to become a Friend of the Village Centre.

Once you are a Friend of the Centre you are entitled to vote at Open Meetings and at the Annual General Meeting.

Becoming a friend is easy and the subscription fee is a minimum of £15 per annum per person. This can be paid by cash, cheque or Banker’s Order. If you are a tax payer your subscription can also be Gift-Aided. You can pick up an application form from the Village Centre.

Or join the 200 Club

We would like to invite you to participate in the above draw. This is a fundraising activity where 50% of the proceeds go to the Village Centre to support services that benefit the local community it serves, the remaining 50% is paid back to you in cash prizes via a monthly draw.

All you need to do is ask for an application form at the Village Centre, alternatively you can contact the organiser of this draw on liamnairn90@gmail.com and a letter and application form will be provided.

Note: if you are already a member then you will be approached for renewal automatically. You purchase a share or multiples for £12 each for the current year. The more you purchase the more chances you have of winning… the prize numbers are drawn from February to December each year. The sooner you join the more draws you will be entered into, entry is open to all including family, friends, colleagues etc…
